Mr Con Athanasiou

After graduating with a Business Degree from UWS, I worked in several industries including hospitality, retail, and travel up to management level. During this time I also travelled the world extensively.

I then decided to get travel industry qualifications from TAFE which allowed me to get a travel agents licence and open a Harvey World Travel franchise. After 7 years of owning and operating a successful business in a tough environment, I wanted a change in lifestyle.

I went back to TAFE to get a Diploma of eBusiness, and a CIV in Training & Assessment, which allowed me to simultaneously change my high cost franchise to a home-based online travel agency, as well as get a job at TAFE teaching Travel & Tourism.

This led me to discover new learning technology and work out how eLearning can improve education, like eCommerce has improved business. During my years of teaching, I have been able to successfully create quality learning experiences for students, based on good pedagogy and very similar to my years of creating memorable travel experiences for clients. 

Since 2010 I have been working as a Learning Designer, developing and implementing innovative learning materials, as well as mentoring and supporting other teachers in creating exceptional learning experiences for their students.

I am now working with the School of Nursing & Midwifery, implementing the UWS Blended Learning Strategy.
