Biography
I studied in the USA, graduating with a Masters degree in Sport Psychology (summa cum laude), and later graduated with a PhD in psychophysiology at the University of NSW.
I am an Associate Professor in psychology and was director of the only accredited postgraduate sport psychology program in NSW from 1998 to 2005. I have a private practice with doctors and athletes that directly influences my lecturing and supervision of graduate students.
I was previously a psychologist for the National Women's Water Polo team, before the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, and with the World University Games. Currently I am a psychologist with the AFL Players Association.
I have lectured in my field at UWS for over 20 years, and regularly present at international conferences. This enhances my teaching effectiveness, and guides my research interests.
As one of Australia's senior sport psychologists I have made contributions to scientific, regulatory and professional bodies. I am a foundation member of the Australian Psychological Society's College of Sport Psychologists (CoSP), a former Chairperson of the NSW CoSP, and formerly the National Professional Development Convenor and Executive Committee Member for CoSP. I am a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and an accredited supervisor with the NSW Psychology Registration Board, which enables me to mentor young psychologists entering the field.
NSW Registered Psychologist, Registration No. PS 0009254.
