Biography

Jennifer joined the School of Law at Parramatta in February 2005, after teaching casually at UWS since February 2003.She has taught and convened Intellectual Property, Media Law, Constitutional Law, Property Law, Contracts and Regulation of Markets (Marketing Law). Jennifer's primary research interests are in Intellectual Property and Media Law including the implications of Web 2.0 technologies and virtual worlds for both areas. She also takes a particular interest in developing high quality, research-led innovations in e-learning. Jennifer has a significant and ongoing role in implementing aspects of blended and e-learning, particularly podcasting, into the undergraduate LLB curriculum at UWS. She has received several awards recognising this work. During 2008, Jennifer undertook a part-time secondment to the UWS Teaching Development Unit (TDU) as a Lecturer in Higher Education (E-Learning). During this secondment, Jennifer was part of a team that developed the UWS e-Learning Quality Framework, which supports staff, through a developmental process of self and peer review, to improve their e-learning sites, build their own e-learning skills and gain a greater understanding of the pedagogical potential of e-learning to improve the overall student learning experience. The framework is being implemented across the University from 2009. Jennifer also has extensive previous experience in legal and electronic publishing and was a foundation editor and author on Halsbury's Laws of Australia prior to her appointment at UWS.
