We have a wide range of clubs and societies and they're a great way to get involved. They can help you meet people, make lasting friendships and even build skills like leadership, communication, project and financial management and public speaking.
Our clubs cover interest areas including program related, political, cultural, religious, social, and focused on areas of interest like art, music, the environment and sport. Whatever you're passion, there's a club for you.
And if there isn't, you can always start your own.

Becoming a student representative is a fantastic way to engage with the University and develop leadership skills you can take with you into the workplace.
What do student reps do?
Essentially their job is to represent student needs and interests to the University. Here are just a few tasks and benefits associated with being a rep:
- Become part of a group of active students that network with professionals at Western Sydney University
- Contribute to decision making at The University
- Have a greater understanding of University processes and systems
- Undertake professional development and enhance your skills
- Improve your graduate employability skills
- Support your student group
- Have your voice heard and influence important decisions. Let students contact you about issues they want to raise
- Gain a better understanding of how the university works
- Suggest, develop and implement solutions related to creating a more vibrant campus life
- Collaborate with students to coordinate events to enhance the student campus experience

The W'SUP newspaper is an independent, student-run paper available online and in print. Copies of the W'SUP newspaper can be found on stands all around campus and are free, so grab a copy. Prefer to get your news online? Check out the latest from the W'SUP online.
Students are encouraged to submit original articles, stories, artwork, photos, game and movie reviews and anything else you can think of that your fellow students might find interesting. Your submissions help keep W'SUP the voice of Western Sydney University students.
Making friends in a new environment like university helps you adjust, feel like you belong and provide an invaluable support network throughout your studies and beyond.
We understand that meeting new people and forging friendships can be quite daunting in a new situation so we've put together a few ideas on easy ways you can meet new people and start to build new friendships:

- Join a club or society to socialise with other students with similar interests
- Sign up to MATES to meet other new students and get advice from more experienced students
- Go along to a PASS session to study with other students in your units
- Think about getting involved as a Student Representative to really get to know your fellow students and be a leader for them
If at any time you're struggling and feeling alone or overwhelmed, we recommend you speak to a Welfare Officer. You can contact them via the online Ask Welfare tool, over the phone or face to face.
