Biography

I received my BEd., in 1980 from the University of South Australia. As an educator I have taught in a variety of formal and informal sectors, including preschool to tertiary education and in the developing world. I completed my MEd from the University of Sydney in 1988 and my PhD from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2007. I joined the University of Western Sydney in 1991 to establish the academic and welfare support for the UWS Macarthur’s International Student Program.

As a Senior Lecturer (Postgraduate literacies) in the Student Learning Unit I am responsible for devising, teaching and coordinating programs which support the development of postgraduate writing and literacy skills. In this capacity I work primarily with higher degree research students teaching a variety of courses, on-line, face-to-face workshops and writing group programs. During my employment at UWS I have also taught in the School of Education and Social Sciences, School of Aviation and School of Language and Linguistics.
