How will I get to my student email?

If you haven't already done so, activate your My UWS account.

The easiest way to access your email is to select the Student Email link in MyUWS. Alternatively, the direct web address is http://student.uws.edu.au.

What is my student email address?

Your official address will be <your studentID>@student.uws.edu.au (no <> brackets).

Can you tell me some of the features of student email?

WAP (Wireless Access Protocol)
You will be able to access your student email wirelessly using WAP2 enabled mobile phones and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). Your telecommunications provider might charge you extra fees to use this service.

Search function
You will be able to search both messages and address books with the new search function.

Calendar and Tasks
Personal calendar and task lists can make organising your workload really easy.

Auto-forwarding and aliasing
Auto-forwarding of emails to another address and email aliasing (where you can change your email display name) is not available. This protects your identity as well as making sure your messages are always delivered straight to your inbox.

Which browsers does it work with?
We recommend Firefox for Mac OS 10.x and Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP SP2 (or later), for use with the Advanced interface. You can also use IE 6 with Windows 2000, but if you have Mac OS 9.2 or Windows 98 you may need to use UWS IT labs to check your mail.

What else do I need to know?
We've made up a quick user guide/fact sheet in case you need a little assistance. There is also a comprehensive online help system available within the webmail program. The user guide/fact sheet is linked as a Related Document below.

Do you want to know what I think?
