How to apply for a deferred exam

If you were unable to attend a final exam due to a serious illness, misadventure or other exceptional circumstances you may apply for a Deferred Exam.  A Deferred Examination Application form must be lodged at a Student Centre no later than 5.00pm on the 2nd working day after your scheduled exam.  Your application will be assessed against the deferred exam criteria.

We will monitor the number of deferred exams you sit during the course of your degree.  Sitting deferred exams more than four (4) times during your enrolment may result in you being reported to your Head of School.  The Head of School may then take action to determine why you repeatedly fail to sit your exams in the main exam period.

It is important to note that completing a deferred exam may delay your eligibility to graduate.

You should understand that access to a deferred exam is a privilege and not an automatic right.

Application forms for Deferred Examinations are only available during the formal examination period.

When & where the deferred exams are held

Deferred exams will be held on the Parramatta campus only.

The deferred exam timetable will be published on PlatformWeb no later than 3 days prior to the deferred exam period.

If your application for deferred exams is successful, we will send an email to your UWS student email acount with further information including your deferred exam dates.

Please note: we are unable to provide verbal exam timetable advice via telephone or at Student Centres.

What happens if I can't attend a deferred exam
