Timetable Information

Co-ordinated, final session exams are held twice a year at the conclusion of Autumn and Spring sessions.

» Upcoming dates for students

How do I access my exam timetable?

You can access your Personalised Exam Timetable on PlatformWeb.

We are unable to provide verbal exam timetable advice via telephone or at Student Centres.

It is important to know that we will be unable to give special consideration in cases where you have misread or misunderstood the timetable coordinated by the Exams Unit, and you will be ineligible to sit the exam at another time.

When is the final exam period?

You will need to be available to sit exams during the entire 3 week exam period. Work commitments, holidays, or other social functions are not considered valid reasons for missing a final exam.

Exams will start at 8.30 am and 2.45 pm on weekdays, and if necessary some examinations will be scheduled on a Saturday. The finish time will depend on the length of the exam.

Please note: The University does not guarantee that the exam for a particular unit will be scheduled at the campus where classes for that unit have been held.

I'm missing an exam on my timetable

If an exam does not appear in your personalised timetable it could mean that you either have an exam clash or the exam is being run by the School.

In these cases you should check the complete timetable on PlatformWeb. If your exam appears on the complete timetable it may indicate that the exam is being run by your school. In this case you must contact your Unit Coordinator or school directly.

I've got an exam clash

The University defines an exam clash as:
  • two exams at the same time including any overlap.
  • less than two hours between exams where they are held on the same campus.
  • insufficient travelling time (less than 3 hours) between exam venues at different campus or off campus sites.
  • where you have more than three exams scheduled on two consecutive days. The University does not regard Friday or Saturday and the following Monday as consecutive days.
  • An evening exam that finishes after 8.30pm followed by a morning exam that starts before 9.30am on the next consecutive day.

We will notify you via your University email account of any exam clash prior to the release of the timetable. Your new exam arrangements will be outlined in the email advice.

If you have any queries regarding a clash examination please email the Timetabling Officer at: examtimetables@uws.edu.au.  Please note that responses will only be sent to your UWS Email account.
