The Sustainability and Social Research Group (SSRG) is a multidisciplinary research group between the College of Business and Law and the College of Arts at the University of Western Sydney (UWS), Australia. The Group’s focus is closely aligned with the University’s mission of ‘Bringing Sustainability to Life’.
SSRG’s research embraces the often neglected, but crucial social, economic and cultural aspects of sustainable development. The group’s distinctive focus derives from the cross-disciplinary approach of its researchers and their shared commitment to addressing sustainability from a stance that goes beyond purely environmental concerns to include social and economic dimensions.
The Groups’ research is concentrated in five key programs:
SSRG is strongly committed to developing collaborative partnerships with individuals, agencies and institutions nationally and internationally for whom sustainability is a crucial issue. Due to the University’s location the Group has established strong research links with the Western Sydney community including policy makers and practitioners in the area of sustainability and social research.
