University Foundation Studies prepare you for study in a university environment. On successful completion, you can gain direct entry into the first year of the equivalent bachelor's degree at the University of Western Sydney (UWS).

The Standard (Two Terms) Course is designed to be completed in eight months. The course includes orientation, teaching, study and examination weeks.
At the beginning of your course, you choose one of five study specialisations based on your preferred university undergraduate program. You can choose one of the following specialisations (click on the name of the specialisation for a list of units studied and a description of each unit):

(for students who wish to study Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Psychology, Education or Languages) - Business(opens in new window)
- Computing(opens in new window)

- Nursing(opens in new window)

- Science(opens in new window)
(for students who wish to study Science and Engineering).

You will need to satisfy both requirements below to be eligible for entry to this course:
- Academic: You must have successfully completed the equivalent of Year 11 (with superior grades) in Australia. Make sure you carefully read the *UWS International Academic Requirements (particularly the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Entry Requirements table) for country-specific entry requirements.

If you have completed certain entry requirements, you may be eligible to apply for advanced standing, reducing the duration of your course. Applications for advanced standing should be submitted along with the initial application for the University Foundation Studies Program.
