About the Course
Using feedback from Engineers Australia, the UWS School of Engineering and UWSCollege have worked together to develop the Associate Degree in Engineering.
UWSCollege already has extensive experience teaching Engineering in the Diploma Program with an excellent track record of graduate academic results in the UWS Bachelor of Engineering degree.
The two-year, nationally recognised associate degree offers students the opportunity to upgrade their skills and knowledge to become project and team managers, as well as progress to the UWS Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for entry to the Associate Degree in Engineering, you must meet both entry requirement 1 and entry requirement 2 outlined below.
Entry requirement 1: Academic achievement
To be accepted into the this course, you must have:
- completed a recognised Certificate III or Certificate IV and have vocational experience, or
- completed the NSW HSC and attained an ATAR (or equivalent), or
- attained other post-secondary qualifications such as bridging, preparatory or paraprofessional courses.
Entry requirement 2: Industry experience
To be eligible for entry to the Associate Degree in Engineering, you must have at least five (5) years relevant industry experience (industry experience includes any work that you have undertaken in industries related to engineering including apprenticeship training and extended work experience placements (more than a month) with an engineering industry company or organisation).
Study mode
The 16 units of study in the degree can be completed in two years, ie equal to full-time but spread over four teaching sessions (quarter sessions) per year.
The study timetable for each teaching session has been designed with the needs of working students in mind. Contact time on campus is approximately 8–10 hours per week (two units of study). We are planning to deliver the course on one full week day, one evening and Saturday mornings (as needed).
