First Aid Facilities and Services
UWS provides and maintains first aid kits and rooms that are strategically placed throughout the University’s campuses to minimise the potential severity of an injury.
First aid services are provided by designated UWS First Aid Officers (PDF, 12.52 KB) (opens in a new window) who have successfully completed a WorkCover NSW accredited first aid training course and have accepted the responsibilities that come with the role.
First Aid Equipment
First Aid Kits
Wall-mounted First Aid Kits are located in convenient places throughout the University. A sticker detailing the prescribed contents should be located on each kit. It is the responsibility of designated UWS First Aid Officers (PDF, 12.52 KB) to regularly ensure the kit is fully stocked.
Any occasion which requires the use of First Aid Supplies should be accompanied by a completed Incident/Hazard Notification Form submitted promptly to WHS, as well as a request for restock of depleted/used items.
To order replacement First Aid Supplies, simply complete the First Aid Supplies Request form (PDF, 89.69 KB) (opens in a new window) and they will be dispatched to you through the internal mail.
Defibrillators
UWS has defibrillators installed at strategic locations on all campuses to ensure ease of access to the greatest number of individuals. In addition to these fixed locations (listed below), every UWS Security vehicle is equipped with a portable defibrillator.
Please familiarise yourself with the defibrillator located closest to you so that in the event of an emergency, valuable time isn’t lost trying to locate this lifesaving device.
In the event of an Emergency, call Security on ext. 2300.
