MA in Literature and Creative Writing

 

The Writing and Society Research Centre offers a nationally leading Master of Arts in Literature and Creative Writing taught by eminent authors, critics and editors. The MA is a challenging, rigorous and industry-focused degree that combines critical research and creative work. Students are guided by publishing writers to produce works of literary scholarship or creative writing across a diverse range of styles including fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, literary criticism, screenwriting and scriptwriting.

Alexis Wright has been a long standing member of the Writing & Society Research Centre and Alexis' major works, Carpentaria, the Swan Book, Tracker and Praiseworthy, have all been published by Giramondo Publishing who are based at WSRC.
As the central river city of Sydney, Parramatta is the home of the Dharug Peoples who have continuously cared for culture and Country for more than 60,000 years through song, dance, knowledge sharing and storytelling.

Writing and Society Research Centre postgraduate students and alumni are actively engaged with both literary and academic publishing. PhD theses and creative works produced in our DCA program have been published and won literary awards.
